Soft and Warm is an oil painting created by Haruna Sato in 2011. The close-up image of a child's face evokes the nearness of skin and breath, while soft layers of color suggest the warmth that remains within memory. Although the artwork itself measures 30 cm square, the framed work has a quiet and substantial presence at 74 cm square.
Haruna Sato was born in Tokyo in 1984. She graduated from Tama Art University, Department of Painting, Oil Painting Course, and completed the Graduate School of Fine Arts, Oil Painting Course, at Aichi University of the Arts in 2020. Working primarily in oil painting, Sato explores sensations of skin, body, memory, and dissolving boundaries. She has appeared on BS Fuji's "Break Zenya" and has participated in exhibitions in Japan and abroad, including the Nakanojo Biennale.
