That image captivated me, and from it I imagined this work. The two figures draw their nourishment from the same roots, living as one. Graduated from Kuwasawa Design School, Department of Visual Design. Growing up with a father who was a doll artist, she has been immersed in making since childhood. Working primarily in acrylic, Nakamura centers her imagery on expressionless women entangled with life-like flora and fauna. A quiet portrait from afar reveals, on closer inspection, ravens and flowers dissolving into the figure — a world of subtle uncanniness. After collaborations with publications and apparel brands, she now focuses on painting and solo exhibitions.
